About
Geocaching is a high tech treasure hunt, that uses a Global Positioning System receiver (GPSr) to locate caches (treasures) hidden all over the world. Currently, there are over 1,005,344 active caches worldwide.
2trux joined geocaching.com on 3/15/03. We got off to a slow start, since we didn’t know anyone else that cached and we weren’t sure what we were looking for. Early on, in the spring of 2003, we actually found the final stage of a puzzle cache (4 Corners), while searching for Orville Parts the Red Sea in the same park. We never logged our early finds online.
That Labor Day weekend, we went up to Toronto, Ontario and found several of the downtown virtual caches. We finally started logging our finds online. In November, we attended the COG Fall Meet & Greet and were able to put faces to the names we’d seen in the cache logs. We had an opportunity to meet Bjorn74, Rabid Bunny and NeoGranger and learn about some of the local caches.
2trux is married to candlelady and we reside in Central Ohio. We own two Toyota trucks, hence the name 2trux. Ole Paint, a ’90 two wheel drive Xtra Cab Deluxe is driven daily. Windy, is a ’02 four wheel drive Doublecab Tacoma. She’s normally a garage queen, but in inclement weather or when we go on a caching trip, she gets called into service.
